TNT/TBS – Senior Paralegal Manager
Based in Burbank, CA
Job Description: The Turner Legal Department is looking for an experienced entertainment paralegal to handle various tasks relating to development and production of original TV series programming. Responsibilities include drafting or reviewing and negotiating talent and production agreements (including certificates of authorship and employment, writer and producer agreements, performer day player and weekly agreements, crew deal memos, assignments, releases, location agreements, clip licenses, vendor agreements, termination and turnaround agreements, consulting agreements, etc.), filing financings statements, chain of title and rights analysis, preparing and updating rights and contract summaries/spreadsheets, serving as liaison with clients and third parties, and managing and updating contract forms as necessary. Must be productive and able to work under pressure with strong attention to detail and have excellent drafting, analytical and organizational skills.
Qualifications: Position requires four year college degree with minimum of three years of paralegal or similar professional experience in the area of entertainment transactions (with a strong preference for television series experience). Experience drafting and negotiating production legal agreements and analyzing and summarizing chain of title and other rights agreements and data required; familiarity with guild agreements and UCC experience desired. Must have exceptional interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage attorney and client demands appropriately working in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are a priority and handling multiples jobs simultaneously is the norm. Strong initiative, flexibility and ability to work autonomously, while also being a strong and supportive member of the team, are essential. Experience at a reputable law firm, studio or network preferred.
